Great photo! we had two cats once that would always climb into the laundry basket together after we brought the laundry back to the apt. They LOVED the warmth.

Roxie is the most heat-seeking of all our cats. But three of them like to hang out in the laundry basket (but not together--that's cute).

Apart from loving your posts Diane, I also like the fact that you are a cat person. I have a cat rescue story to share. About a month ago a mother cat and her 2 kittens set up residence in my laundry area. The kittens were right behind the washing machine which is outside in a covered area (this is the Caribbean after all). Anyway, I bought some cat food as I saw that she was still nursing and some milk and started feeding the mother. The mother has now moved the kittens and seems to have weaned them. I heard a kitten crying this morning and when I went around the back I saw one of the kittens in between my gas cylinders. It was panting and looked to be in distress. I asked my nephew to try and see if he could get out the kitten. As I did not have any kitten cat food in the house I opened a can of tuna and got out my soy milk, mixed it together and put it in a saucer. Man, was that kitten hungry. He ate, went to sleep and now he is around the back playing with a little ball that he found. He has come as far as the kitchen and I guess I will have to get some cat food when I go to the store later today.

That is is a good cat rescue story! Is the family going to wind up living with you?

Diane, I dont think so. I bought the kitten inside because the mother has not come back for him and it is now approaching mating season and I do not want the large male cats that are roaming around to do my little guy any harm so I have taken him inside the house. These are stray cats but a lot of my neighbours tend to feed them. They are pretty good cats. They wont scratch or claw you and if you put down food outside they will eat. When it rains they will find shelter in most people's laundry areas. The little one that I rescued this morning is sleeping quite peacefully in his little box and if I think I am going to keep him I may have to find a vet and take him in to get him spayed as well as get shots and get some Frontline and stuff for him as he has fleas.
